Forced Connection Part 2

We went further indept with forced connection this week.
We were told to invent a new product by our lecturer by using whatever we had in our bag.
The lecturer also provided us a trigger technique to induce us about how we can modify and connect different objects together, the technique was S.C.A.M.P.E.R.

It's very difficult to come out with new ideas based on the object we have as they are usually combined or invented.
Here's a list of things our group has thought of when we were brainstorming.
As we still couldn't have any idea after the presentation, we were broken into pairs to work more efficiently.

I was paired with Gladys and we finally came up with an idea.
We thought about combining mascare and lip gloss after being inspired by a pen.
We named it D.L Pen, Dark Light Pen, Dark for Mascara and Light for the glittery lip gloss.

It was interesting to learn about the mechanism in the retractable pen and twist pen while trying to apply them into our ideas.
The gifs were all created by me, for our classmates and lecturer to have a better understanding about the mechanism during our presentation.

Mechanism for twist pen, we apply this on our lip gloss so we can choose between 2 colors when we're using it.

Mechanism for retractable pen, we apply this on our mascara.

Forced Connection Part 1

This week's lesson was on Forced Connection.
Forced connections are based on the brain’s ability to link two disparate items.

For example, a pencil with an eraser on top, a chair with wheels or a sofa bed.
They are items that are connected between 2 very different object.

It is interesting to know that there are actually so many products invented through the concept
After knowing what forced connection is, we were told to brainstorm a series of object that were created like this.

We were told to come up with different examples of forced connections:

Here's a series of object that were created:
